About us
Last updated: 15 October 2026
A little more comfort in the everyday
MELA BEAR is about the small moments that make home feel cosy: a quiet evening, a favourite book and a soft companion close by.
Mela Bear is a weighted plush companion. Its added weight gives it a different feel when held compared with a similar lightweight soft toy. Comfort is personal, and we do not promise a particular experience or health result.
Clear information, thoughtful service
We want shopping with us to feel straightforward. You can find delivery details, your cancellation rights and contact information in our policies. Please check the product information and follow the supplied care and safety instructions.
The company behind MELA BEAR

Company and correspondence
MELA BEAR is a trading brand of Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
You may send complaints, legal correspondence or cancellation notices to this address. Please request parcel return instructions by email instead of assuming it is a return depot.
Returns, faults and privacy
To cancel, email us a clear statement that you wish to cancel; you do not need permission or a special form. For a faulty item, tell us what happened and we will help with the appropriate remedy. Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains the process.
For data protection enquiries or to exercise your rights, use the same email or postal address. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
Standard UK delivery is free. Our delivery period is 8–15 calendar days from placing your order, including preparation and transit. Calendar days include weekends and bank holidays. Any address restrictions must be shown before checkout; we will not add an undisclosed delivery surcharge after you order.
Your delivery and any delay
Please check your delivery address before ordering. If you need to change it, contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000 as soon as possible. We will check whether the parcel can still be redirected or the details amended.
If we become aware of a delay, we will tell you. We will not treat a new delivery period as agreed without your agreement. If an agreed delivery deadline is missed, you can normally give us an appropriate additional period. If we still do not deliver within it, you may end the contract and receive a refund without undue delay.
You may end the contract immediately if we refuse delivery, or if delivery by the agreed time was essential in the circumstances or you told us before ordering that it was essential. You may also use any applicable cancellation right before delivery. These options do not limit your other statutory rights.
Missing or damaged parcels
If a parcel is missing or arrives damaged, contact us so we can investigate and provide the remedy you are entitled to. You do not need to resolve the issue with our carrier yourself. We remain responsible until you or someone you nominate physically receives the goods, except where you independently appoint a carrier we did not offer.
Photos of damage or packaging may help but are not an absolute condition of a claim. We do not impose a short reporting deadline that removes your statutory rights. Refusing a parcel alone may not communicate a cancellation clearly; please send us a clear cancellation notice as well.
Prices and cross-border charges
Prices are in GBP. Applicable taxes and unavoidable charges must be made clear before you commit to an order. We do not use this policy to impose undisclosed customs, handling or import charges on you. If a carrier asks you for an unexpected charge, contact us with the notice so we can resolve it.
Returns and seller details
Free outward delivery does not automatically mean free change-of-mind returns. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for costs and instructions.
Your seller is Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. For help, contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000.
This policy explains cancellation and faulty-goods rights for UK consumer orders. It does not limit your statutory rights, including when an item is discounted.
Who to contact
Your seller is Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000. You can also send a cancellation or complaint by post to the company address.
Changed your mind? You have 14 days to tell us
You can cancel without giving a reason, from placing the order until the end of 14 calendar days after the day you receive the goods. If items from one order arrive separately, this period starts after you receive the last item. You may cancel before dispatch or delivery too.
Email us with a clear statement that you want to cancel, or write to our company address. An order number helps us identify the purchase but is not compulsory if we can identify it another way. You can use the optional form below, but do not have to. Sending your cancellation in time is what matters; you do not need to wait for our approval.
Sending your item back
Contact us at colbyecomllc@gmail.com for the return address and practical posting instructions. Our company registration address is not presented as a parcel return centre. Requesting instructions does not replace your right to cancel or require you to obtain permission.
Send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after telling us you are cancelling. Keep proof of posting. If our delay in supplying usable return instructions prevents you from meeting that deadline, we will not refuse your return because of that delay.
For a change-of-mind return, you pay the direct return postage cost if this obligation was clearly disclosed before you ordered. If it was not disclosed, we bear that cost. We do not charge a restocking fee, handling penalty or hidden fee for the original free delivery. For faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods, we cover reasonable return costs; contact us to arrange the return.
Checking your bear
You may open the packaging and inspect the product as you reasonably would in a shop to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning. Where permitted by law, a deduction may reflect a genuine loss of value caused by handling beyond that. There is no automatic deduction, and we will explain any proposed amount. We cannot make this deduction where the law prevents it, including where required cancellation information was not supplied.
Original packaging is helpful, but is not a condition of exercising your statutory rights. Opening an ordinary soft toy does not automatically remove the right to cancel on hygiene grounds.
How refunds work
On cancellation we refund the goods and any standard outward delivery charge paid. Our standard UK delivery is £0. If an optional premium delivery service was selected, we need only refund the equivalent standard delivery charge.
We refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of cancellation. Where we have not offered to collect the goods, we may withhold the refund until we receive them back or receive evidence that you sent them, whichever happens first. The refund is then made without undue delay and within 14 days of that earlier event. If we offered collection, or no goods were supplied, the 14-day period runs from your cancellation notice.
Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method, with no refund fee. We do not require you to accept store credit. If legally required cancellation information was missing, the cancellation period can be extended by up to 12 months; providing it during that extension starts a further 14-day period.
Faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a qualifying fault normally gives you a short-term right to reject the goods for a refund within 30 days of delivery. You may instead request a repair or replacement. These remedies must be free, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience.
After the short-term period, repair or replacement will normally be the first remedy. If neither is possible, an attempt fails, or the remedy is not provided within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, you may be entitled to a price reduction or final rejection and refund. The law governs which remedy is available and any permitted deduction.
For relevant remedies, a fault appearing in the first six months is generally treated as present on delivery unless we establish otherwise or that presumption is incompatible with the goods or fault. That rule does not automatically apply to the short-term right to reject. Rights can continue beyond six months; neither period is a promised lifespan or a warranty expiry date.
Tell us what went wrong and provide reasonable evidence of purchase. Photographs can help, but are not mandatory if the problem can be established another way. We cover reasonable return costs. Refunds following an agreed entitlement to reject faulty goods are made without undue delay and within 14 days of that agreement.
Getting help
Contact us first if you would like us to resolve a problem. You may also seek independent advice from Citizens Advice, Advice Direct Scotland or Consumerline in Northern Ireland. Contacting us is not a condition of using your legal remedies. Where required, an unresolved complaint will receive details of an appropriate alternative dispute resolution provider and our position on participation.
Optional cancellation form
Use this only if you want to cancel. Send to Colby COMMERCE LLC, 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, or email colbyecomllc@gmail.com. This address is for notices; ask us separately for parcel return instructions.
I/We give notice that I/we cancel my/our contract for the following goods:
Goods: ____________________ Ordered on / received on: ____________________ Order number, if available: ____________________ Consumer name(s): ____________________ Consumer address: ____________________ Date: ____________________ Signature, only for a paper notice: ____________________
These terms apply when you buy from the UK-facing MELA BEAR shop at melabear.pl as a consumer. MELA BEAR is a trading brand of Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
For orders, complaints, cancellations or other enquiries, contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000. You may also write to our company address above. This is our company correspondence address; please ask for parcel return instructions before posting a product.
2. Placing an order
Choose the product and quantity, review your basket and enter your delivery and contact details. You can correct errors before placing your order. The final checkout step shows the amount due and makes clear that ordering involves payment. Contracts are made in English.
Our order confirmation email confirms acceptance of your order and the contract. Please retain it. If we cannot supply an item, we will tell you and refund any payment due without undue delay. We will not substitute goods or increase an agreed price without your agreement. The version of these terms supplied with your order applies to that order; later updates do not change an existing contract.
3. Product information and prices
The product description, selected option and quantity identify what you are buying. Follow the product’s supplied care and safety instructions. Mela Bear is offered as a weighted plush companion; we make no claim that it diagnoses, prevents or treats a health condition, or guarantees a particular sleep or wellbeing result.
Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP, £). The total price, including applicable taxes and any unavoidable charges, is shown before you place your order. Standard UK delivery is free. No optional extra is added without your express agreement. If there is an error in a listing, we will contact you to explain it; this does not give us a general right to change an accepted order or avoid your legal rights.
4. Delivery
Our standard UK delivery period is 8–15 calendar days from ordering, including preparation and transit. Delivery is free. See our Delivery Policy for delivery arrangements, delays and lost parcels.
We remain responsible for goods until you, or a person you nominate, takes physical possession. The legal exception is where you independently appoint a carrier we did not offer. A delay or problem with our supplier or carrier does not remove your rights against us.
5. Cancelling and returning an order
You may cancel before delivery or until the end of 14 calendar days after the day you receive the goods, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days after telling us to send them back. Email or write to us with a clear cancellation statement; our approval is not required. Our Returns & Refunds Policy explains the deadlines, return costs, refunds and optional cancellation form and forms part of these terms.
For a change-of-mind return, you pay the direct return postage cost only if that obligation was disclosed before purchase. If it was not disclosed, we bear that cost. There is no restocking fee and no deduction of a hidden charge for our free outward delivery. Faulty goods are covered separately below.
6. Faulty goods and complaints
Your goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. UK consumer law provides remedies, including rejection and refund, repair or replacement, depending on the circumstances. You do not need a separate warranty to exercise those rights. We cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty or misdescribed.
Contact us with the problem and any available proof of purchase. We may ask for information reasonably needed to assess it, but do not make a photograph, original packaging or a paper receipt an absolute requirement. We remain responsible for resolving your claim; you do not have to pursue the manufacturer instead.
We will consider complaints fairly. If we cannot resolve a complaint, we will provide information about a suitable alternative dispute resolution provider and say whether we are obliged or willing to use it, where required by law. This does not restrict your right to use a competent court.
7. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights. These terms do not impose an indemnity on you or a limit of liability equal to the purchase price.
8. Privacy and website use
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how personal information is used. Buying does not require consent to optional marketing. Please do not misuse the website or send unlawful content.
9. Your local consumer protections
You retain the mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live in the United Kingdom. Our registration in the United States does not require you to waive those rights or bring a claim only in a US court. These terms do not require private arbitration or waive collective or other legal remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
You may save or print these terms. Required contract information and cancellation instructions will be provided in a form you can keep, such as an email, no later than delivery.
This notice explains how personal information is handled when you browse MELA BEAR, place an order or contact us. It covers our UK-facing shop at melabear.pl. It is a privacy notice, not a request to consent to all processing.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for the store’s customer information is Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000, or write to our company address. Put “Privacy” in the subject if convenient; this is not a requirement for exercising your rights.
2. Information and sources
Orders: name, email, relevant telephone number, delivery and billing addresses, items, quantities, order value, transaction status, delivery and return information.
Enquiries: your messages and information reasonably needed to answer a question, handle a complaint or verify a purchase.
Website use: IP address, device and browser information, basket activity, security information and privacy choices. Optional tracking information is collected where the relevant feature is enabled and the necessary permission exists.
We receive information from you, your interaction with the shop, Shopify and providers involved in your order, such as delivery or transaction services. If someone buys a gift for you, they supply your delivery details. We use those details to fulfil the gift order and related enquiries, not to subscribe you to marketing.
Please do not send medical records, passwords or card security codes. These are not needed for ordinary customer service.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Contract: to respond to steps you request before buying, process your order, arrange delivery and administer the purchase.
Legal obligations: to comply with applicable UK legal duties, such as statutory consumer rights and legally required records. Where record-keeping is required solely by non-UK law, we assess the relevant legitimate interest rather than automatically treating it as a UK GDPR legal obligation.
Legitimate interests: to respond to general enquiries, deliver gifts, protect the shop against fraud and security incidents, maintain necessary business records and establish or defend claims. We weigh these interests against your rights and use proportionate information.
Consent: for optional tracking and marketing where consent is required. You may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We need the information required at checkout to accept and deliver an order. Without it, we may not be able to fulfil the purchase. Optional marketing or tracking consent is not a condition of buying.
4. Who receives information
Access is limited to authorised people working for the company and providers who need information for their role. These include Shopify for hosting and commerce, delivery and fulfilment services, transaction services, email and IT providers, and professional advisers. Our customer care mailbox uses Gmail, provided by Google. We may disclose information to authorities where lawfully required or where necessary to establish or defend legal rights.
Providers processing information on our instructions must be covered by appropriate data-processing arrangements. Some providers act as independent controllers for their own purposes and legal duties.
Shopify supplies the commerce platform. Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled: Shopify may combine information about interactions with this shop with information from other merchants and Shopify services to provide enhanced services, including personalisation, analytics and advertising. For those purposes Shopify acts as a separate controller. Applicable consent requirements and privacy choices still apply. See Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum and privacy portal.
5. International processing
The controller is a US company. Our service providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States, Canada and the European Economic Area. Protections in other countries may differ from those in the UK.
Where UK restricted-transfer rules apply, the transfer requires an applicable adequacy arrangement or appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum to approved contractual clauses, with any necessary risk assessment and supplementary measures. A provider’s certification or safeguards do not automatically cover every recipient. Contact us for details of safeguards relevant to your information or a copy, subject to necessary redactions.
6. Retention
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purpose. For orders and accounting records, we consider applicable tax and record-keeping duties and the time in which a relevant claim can be brought. For enquiries and complaints, we consider whether the matter is resolved and whether records remain needed for an ongoing dispute. For security records, we consider the investigation and prevention period relevant to the incident. We do not keep everything indefinitely simply because it might be useful.
Consent records are kept for as long as needed to demonstrate and respect your choices. A minimal suppression record may be retained to avoid sending unwanted marketing after an objection. Cookie storage periods are separate from the retention of associated records; see our Cookie Policy. Information no longer needed for a lawful purpose is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in data protection law, you can request access and a copy, correction, erasure, restriction or portability. You may object to legitimate-interest processing for reasons relating to your situation, and to direct marketing at any time. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Some records may still need to be retained for a legal obligation or claim.
Email or write to us using the details above. We may ask for proportionate information to establish identity. Requests are normally free and are usually answered within one month. Any extension, clarification request or charge must be permitted by law and explained to you.
If an automated fraud assessment affects your order, you can contact us for an explanation and human consideration. This statement does not remove any additional rights applying to a decision made solely by automated means that has legal or similarly significant effects.
8. Complaints and updates
You may complain directly to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You do not have to complain to us first. We welcome the chance to resolve an issue if you wish to contact us.
We update this notice when our practices change and provide additional information or seek consent where required. The date above identifies this version. Our Cookie Policy explains browser privacy choices.
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They can keep a basket working, remember privacy choices, measure visits or support advertising. This policy covers these technologies on MELA BEAR.
The store is operated by Colby COMMERCE LLC, a limited liability company organised in Wyoming, United States. Wyoming entity ID: 2026-002075090. Registered and principal office: 33 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Contact colbyecomllc@gmail.com or +48 730 539 000 about privacy or cookie choices.
Your choice
Our Shopify privacy controls let you accept optional categories, reject optional tracking or manage your preferences. Open Cookie settings in the footer to change or withdraw consent. Simply browsing, scrolling or closing a banner is not consent.
We request consent for optional tracking. You can shop without accepting it. Your choice normally applies to the current browser and device; clearing storage or using another device may require another choice. Withdrawing consent stops future processing based on that consent, without making earlier lawful processing unlawful.
Categories
Essential: storage strictly needed for a service you request, including the basket, checkout, security and recording privacy choices.
Preferences: optional storage that remembers additional choices or personalises the experience.
Analytics: optional measurement of visits and use of the store.
Marketing: optional campaign measurement and advertising personalisation where these functions are enabled.
A category name does not itself make a technology essential. Optional categories require the relevant choice before use. Cookie consent does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Providers and duration
Shopify provides the store’s core commerce and consent functions. Its cookie information lists the names, purposes and typical storage periods of its technologies; those actually used depend on the enabled services, your actions and your privacy choices. Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy explains associated processing and enhanced services.
Session cookies expire at the end of the session. Persistent cookies remain until their stated expiry or deletion. Local storage can remain until cleared by the site or your browser. Device storage duration is separate from how long a provider keeps related personal information.
Browser settings and help
You can also delete or block storage through your browser. Blocking essential storage may prevent the basket or checkout from working. Deleting a cookie does not necessarily delete information already held by a provider, so use the privacy controls or contact us for help with that information.
Our Privacy Policy explains the controller, legal bases, recipients, international processing, retention and your rights.
